Mobile Ad hoc Networking and the IETF. Chakeres and Macker. Mobile Computing and Communications Review, vol 1, #2.
- Briefly overviews the state of the IETF MANET WG just after it was refocused on OLSR, DYMO, and SMF
- OLSRv2: Simplified version of OLSR, a proactive routing protocol
- More extensibility in packets, aggregation of IP addresses
- DYMO: Reactive protocol, designed to be simple and easy to implement
- SMF: Basic multicast forwarding service, with interface to add in routing information
- Main parts: Duplicate packet detection (DPD), relay set selection (RSS)
- Supports both MPR and CDS set algorithms
- Notes some related work in new autoconf group, OSPF (OSPF-MANET), and 6lowpan
